    MISSION:

    The Front Desk Lead serves the mission of Sunrise Ranch through conscious, results-oriented stewardship of front desk operations and guest experience. By creating a consistent space of welcome, clarity, and care, this role ensures smooth arrivals, responsive service, and effective coordination across departments. Through attentive leadership and accountable execution, the Front Desk Lead contributes directly to the successful flow of events, guest satisfaction, and the fulfillment of Sunrise Ranch’s greater purpose.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Guest Experience & Front Desk Operations

    Set a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for community members, visitors, guests, and retreat leaders.

    Serve as a primary point of contact by responding promptly and professionally to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.

    Direct calls and information requests appropriately and ensure timely follow-up.

    Process guest check-ins, reservations, payments, and refunds using hospitality software.

    Handle customer service requests and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

    1. Front Desk Leadership & Coordination

    Coordinate daily activities and task assignments for Front Desk and Front Desk Support staff.

    Ensure all operational details are executed accurately and on schedule.

    Train and onboard new Front Desk staff as needed.

    Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are consistently followed.

    1. Administrative, Reporting & Inventory Management

    Produce and maintain reports, records, and related documentation using hospitality software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

    Close out event files, ensuring all guest payments are received and properly recorded.

    Purchase and order items for sale at the Front Desk, monitoring inventory needs.

    1. Facility Support & Cross-Department Collaboration

    Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Front Office environment, including the entrance and office areas.

    Provide operational support to Event Departments as needed, including:

    Dining Host Support: Assist with meal service and cleanup, dishwashing, table and floor cleanliness, restocking condiments and supplies, and maintaining coffee and tea stations.

    Housekeeping Support: Assist with cleaning and resetting guest rooms, conference spaces, Pavilion, Living Room, Dining Room, bathrooms, and front entrance areas.

    Room Steward Support: Assist with meeting room setup according to facilitator needs.

    Kitchen/Dish Support: Assist with washing cookware and meal dishes as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

    Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset

    Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a busy, dynamic environment

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

    Team-oriented approach with willingness to support multiple departments

    Minimum Qualifications

    Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or front desk operations

    Basic proficiency with computers and office software (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel)

    Experience using or ability to learn hospitality or reservation software

    Ability to stand, walk, and perform light to moderate physical tasks throughout a shift

    Availability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings or weekends

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    Prior experience in a hospitality, retreat center, hotel, or event-based environment

    Experience supervising, coordinating, or training staff

    Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale systems

    Experience supporting food service, housekeeping, or event setup operations

    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
