    Position overview

    Front Health seeks someone with an entrepreneurial drive that has (1) a core competency in data visualization (Tableau), (2) seeks to understand broader business problems in the context of developing technical solutions, and (3) is attracted to the idea of growing a meaningful data visualization offering as part of Front Health.

    As a Data Visualization Designer/Leader, you will be a key part of the Front Health team, working on product-oriented visualizations that are delivered to existing clients and positioned as services available to attract new clients. You will design, build, and deploy Tableau dashboards and analytics tools for our clients.

    Infused in everything we do is how to drive decision-making for actionable change. You will work with internal team members (executives, analysts, clinicians) and clients to understand their needs and deliver best in class solutions. You will be expected to lead our innovations by designing user friendly ways to deliver performance reporting and enable client users to interact with statistical models and machine learning through intuitive data visualization interfaces.

    This is also an exciting opportunity to help drive – and potentially lead – the organization's broader Data Visualization practice and offering in the market, from shaping the products, informing the product delivery approach, and defining the go to market strategy.

    Primary responsibilities

    Our visualization tools are designed to surface insights that enable understanding and action. Key responsibilities include:

    • Lead visualization projects and teams to deliver on the specific business needs (either of a client or internal partner)

    • Help inform (and potentially lead based on skillset) our broader data visualization offering and go to market strategy

    • Engage and influence senior-level executive client decision-making on the role and application of data visualization

    • Understand business needs of the users via user and industry expert engagement

    • Perform user workshops to develop an adequate understanding of  potential users, including how users make decisions, the information required to make informed decisions, and what actions may be taken as a result

    • Identify key questions and the metrics / statistics that enable users to answer those questions

    • Lead project estimation (for client proposals) and project planning (defining the buckets of work required and assembling teams to execute)

    • Design dashboards or analytics tools that arrange the visualizations into an organized information architecture

    • Utilize a user-driven design approach to dashboard design and incorporate user needs and feedback with rapid wireframing and prototypes

    • Build Tableau dashboards using sophisticated technological approaches and visualization best practices

    • Review and perform QA on dashboards to ensure accuracy and functionality

    • Continually monitor user access and feedback and provide updates to continual improvement

    • Assist in overall data and analytics architecture

    • Communicate with stakeholders and provide demos and education

    • Present and create / maintain documentation on solution architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences

    • Travel: if interested, job could include 25 to 50% travel; if not interested, travel can be less frequent

    Requirements

    • College Degree (BA/BS)

    • American citizen or green card holder

    • Strong aptitude to understand business concepts, functions, organization and terminology

    • Strong communication skills, including verbal presentations and written communications

    • Highly proficient at translating business problems into technological solutions

    • Demonstrated capability to structure ambiguous business problems through sound logic, critical thinking, and the use of frameworks

    • Embraces Front Health culture and values (resilience, flexibility, open collaboration, engaging, friendly and fun) and shows an ability and desire to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment

    • 2+ years working as data visualization designer or developer focused on designing solutions, or an analogous role

    • 1+ years working with Tableau and demonstrated expertise

    • Embodies the desire, willingness, and aptitude to take on new challenges and quickly learn best practices for solutions to complex problems

    • Thrives working in a team environment and across multiple client organizations

    • Experience with Tableau Server

    • Above average proficiency on visualization design, including chart selection and graphic design best practices

    • Strong understanding of business intelligence concepts including ETL and data warehousing

    Preferred skills and experience—ideal though not required

    • Experience working directly with health systems (healthcare providers) and/or payers

    • Understanding of statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence
