    HOLLY HUNT is a sales and service organization, as well as designer and maker of high-end interior design furniture, lighting, textiles, leather, and rugs. HOLLY HUNT’S “to the trade” customers are interior designers and architects. 85 to 90 percent of business revenue is generated from residential purchases, while 10 to 15 percent is generated from contract, corporate or hospitality purchases.

     

    POSITION PROFILE:

    The Merchandising Intern supports the Director of Lighting with curating & launching new product, go-to-market strategies, coordinating showroom displays in partnership with the Creative team, and providing actionable sales & market analysis.

    This role will provide exposure to the HOLLY HUNT brand design aesthetic, global network of artisans, product sourcing and development process across a variety of product categories, materials, & techniques, including blown glass, cast bronze, & soft goods, as well as experience working cross functionally to understand the different aspects of the business.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop a strong understanding of the industry and our space in the luxury market. Conduct competitive analysis, identify market trends and key/emerging players, and communicate assortment opportunities.
    • Curate and source new product and designers that align with the HOLLY HUNT brand and assortment needs. Communicate and build relationships with vendors, as a representative of HOLLY HUNT, for product information and assets.
    • Partner with Marketing & IT to launch new product and designers by setting up in our internal system and on the website.
    • Develop creative briefs and launch schedules for marketing needs and coordinate product photo shoots.
    • Collaborate with showrooms and client services to gather client & seller assortment feedback.
    • Represent the business unit and communicate merchandising information to showrooms and develop training materials to support both new and current product.
    • Create, update, and analyze the Business Unit’s reporting and metrics monthly and quarterly.
    • Work with showrooms and Creative team on specifying, ordering, and transferring showroom consignment based on sales.
    • Collaborate with all other departments as needed, acting as representative for the Business Unit.
    • Gain exposure to leadership team by assisting Business Unit director with presentations for executive reviews/strategic meetings.

    Required Skills

    • Ideal candidates will be working toward a Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field or have equivalent work experience.

    Required Experience

    • Ability to multitask
    • Some light lifting (20lbs – 30lbs max)
    • Computer skills – basic knowledge preferred.
