    PART TIME INSTRUCTOR, LIFESPAN DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY/HUMAN SEXUALITY - LARIMER CAMPUS

    WHO YOU ARE

    As a part-time instructor in the Social Science, Education, & Public Service Department, you provide instruction for Psychology, focusing on the scientific study of behavior and mental processes with an emphasis on the implications, and applications of current Psychological theory and empirical findings.  In this particular position, you will focus on Lifespan Developmental Psychology and/or Human Sexuality. 

    You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students’ critical thinking skills. 

    You serve as representative of the department by participating in committees, task forces, and events at the campus, college, and/or state levels. You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities (on-campus, real-time remote, and/or online) to meet the needs of the College.

    Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes:  A LETTER OF INTEREST; A RESUME; A COPY OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS; A ONE-PAGE STATEMENT OF YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY; A LIST OF COURSES AND THE SEMESTERS YOU HAVE TAUGHT.    

     

    BEGINNING IN MID-DECEMBER, ALL EMPLOYEES OF FRCC WILL HAVE A CHOICE TO SUBMIT A COPY OF THEIR VACCINATION CARD OR TO AGREE TO WEEKLY COVID-19 TESTING.

    SALARY: The pay range for Part-Time Instructors varies, depending on the type of course, the contact ratio and contact hours, as well as your level of education and years of teaching.  Please refer to our Part-Time Instructor Pay Matrix for detailed information. 

    BENEFITS: Variable hour employees will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance only for the following benefit period.  (See: 2020-2021 Instructor & Variable Hour Employee Benefit Information) 

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in Psychology, or a related discipline.

    RELATED DEGREES: Social Psychology; Forensic Psychology; Behavioral Assessment; Behavioral Analysis; Behavioral Economics; Gender Studies; Health Psychology; Comparative Behavior; GeoPsychology; Applied Psychology; Industrial/Organizational; Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral Genetics; Community Psychology; Positive Psychology; Human Sexuality; Sports Psychology; Neuropsychology; Biopsychology; Organizational Sciences; Gerontology; Adult Learning, Training and Development, Educational Psychology, Education, Human Development and Family Studies, School Psychology. Counseling Psychology; Counseling licensure; Mental Health Counseling; Community Counseling; Clinical Counseling; Counselor Education; Marriage & Family Therapy; Clinical Mental Health; Rehabilitation Counseling, Drug & Rehab Counseling Grief Counseling. 

    TESTED EXPERIENCE: In addition to an earned Bachelor’s degree, a faculty member may be deemed qualified if they are able to demonstrate participation in additional activities including: writing and editing relevant national/international publications, professional engagement/consulting via portfolios, and recognized national/international honors/awards. Tested experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved. 

    PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Interest in teaching Lifespan Developmental Psychology and/or Human Sexuality. 
    • Experience in teaching Psychology at the Post-Secondary level.
