    PART TIME INSTRUCTOR, CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT, COMMUNICATION - BOULDER COUNTY CAMPUS

     

    This is a part-time, temporary position with no benefits except Colorado State retirement, PERA.

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    This position will be teaching two classes at Mead High School on Monday and Wednesday from 7:45pm-9:05pm and 9:15pm-10:35pm.

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    • Teach all assigned classes.
    • Travel to High School and teach curriculum to students concurrently enrolled in course.
    • Distribute a course syllabus to each student in every class. Inform students of all course requirements, course evaluation procedures, attendance requirements, make-up examination policy, and related course procedures.
    • Meet the class at the assigned time in the assigned room.
    • Conduct regular evaluation of student’s progress.
    • Maintain accurate performance and attendance records and submit required reports on or before the deadlines.
    • Assist students with study problems and with evaluating their potential for successful achievement in the course or discipline.
    • Communicate with the department chair regularly.
    • Maintain professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities, i.e., FERPA, copyrights, etc.

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    Master’s degree in one of several related degrees listed below. Also allowed, a Master’s degree in any field, plus 18 graduate credits in one of the related degrees listed below.

    RELATED DEGREE: Communication, Communication & Rhetoric, Communication Studies, Human Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Mass Communication, Organizational Communication, Public Communication, Speech Communication, or Journalism

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    •  Professional and teaching experience in communication. Teaching experience in a high school setting will be helpful
