GENERAL SUMMARY - LC SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION LEADER - MAT 120, MAT 121 AND MAT 135, WORK STUDY/STUDENT HOURLY
FRCC is seeking motivated and dedicated students to serve as Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders to support student success. SI leaders facilitate student learning and help students better understand concepts or applications of course content through collaborative learning techniques and modeling course specific study strategies. Each SI Leader is assigned one course they have already been successful in, that typically poses a challenge to students. The SI attends each class session and provides weekly small group sessions covering the course content using active learning principles. The SI Leaders support students and assists them in gaining effective study skills and maximizing their potential for their academic success. While attending the course, the SI Leaders gather insight into the course content and the instruction methods in use. The SI Leaders also maintain ongoing contact with course professors and the Academic Success Center.
