    FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE PART TIME INSTRUCTOR, MULTIMEDIA GRAPHIC DESIGN - WESTMINSTER CAMPUS

    WHO YOU ARE

    As a part-time faculty member in the Multimedia Technology Program, you will teach a variety of courses related to Multimedia Graphic Design. Course assignments will be made based on experience in one or more of the following areas: Graphic Design, Web Design, Animation, Game Design, Sound Design, Video Editing and/or Video Production. 

     

    You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students’ critical thinking skills.  You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College. Online courses and evening classes may be assigned.

     

    You will collaborate with IT staff to ensure that hardware/software in the MGD labs works properly and is up to date. This may include light troubleshooting and repair of equipment as well as coordinating more significant repairs with IT staff.

     

    THIS IS A PART-TIME, TEMPORARY POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS EXCEPT COLORADO STATE RETIREMENT, PERA.

     

    THIS POOL WILL BE HIRING MULTIPLE POSITIONS. IF YOU SPECIALIZE IN ONE OF THE SKILLS, BUT NOT OTHERS YOU ARE STILL ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. THIS IS AN ONGOING OPEN TALENT POOL. 

     

    SELECTION PROCESS:

    Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes:

     

    1. A LETTER OF INTEREST DETAILING EXPERIENCE AS RELATED TO THE POSITION;

    4. A ONE-PAGE STATEMENT OF YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY.

    SALARY: The pay range for Part-Time Instructors varies, depending on the type of course, the contact ratio and contact hours, as well as your level of education and years of teaching.  Please refer to our Part-Time Instructor Pay Matrix for detailed information.

     

     

     

    BENEFITS: Variable hour employees will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance only for the following benefit period.  (SEE: 2020-2021 Instructor & Variable Hour Employee Benefit Information)

     

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • A related associates (or relevant current industry license or certification) and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years;
    • OR, a related Bachelor's or any Master's degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years.

     

    RELATED DEGREE, CREDENTIAL, AND/OR OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN:  Graphic Design, Multimedia, Web Design, Video or Animation; Marketing, Arts, Design, Fine Arts.

     

    REQUIRED

    • Industry experience and/or education relevant to the field of Multimedia and Graphic Design.
    • Associate’s Degree in the field in which they will teach or a combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Industry experience in the subject matter taught and be familiar with the equipment used in the program.
    • Must also be able to qualify for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential.

     

    PREFERRED

    • Proficiency with applicable software dependent upon area of expertise such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, and Substance.
