    WHO YOU ARE

    As a full-time faculty member in the Nursing Department your responsibilities will be to provide instruction and program operations in the practical nursing program. Subject areas include medical-surgical, OB/Peds, and/or mental health areas of nursing in the classroom, clinical settings, and simulation labs. You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students’ critical thinking skills. Other responsibilities will include clinical site coordination, program accreditation, and scheduling. 

    As a faculty member you act as a mentor for the part-time instructors. You serve as representative of the department by participating in committees, task forces, and events at the campus, college, and/or state levels. You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College.

    Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes: A RESUME; A COPY OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS; A ONE PAGE STATEMENT OF YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY; A LIST OF COURSES AND THE SEMESTERS YOU HAVE TAUGHT.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a regionally accredited college university and equivalent of two years (4,000 hours) in Nursing practice within the last 5 years and one full time year in nursing or nursing education within the last three years.
    • An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
    • Must have or be able to obtain Colorado Vocational Credential.
    • Proficient with current health related monitoring equipment.
