    WHO YOU ARE

    As the Assistant Director, you will be located at the North Metro Denver Small Business Development Center (NMSBDC) and will report to the Senior Director.  Your main role as the Assistant Director, will be to manage all aspects of program development and service delivery for the NMSBDC office, as well as manage and monitor programs any satellite office. This includes recruiting, training, supervising and supporting the consultants, office volunteers, instructors and advisors. You will support the development and management of the budget for the NMSBDC office. You will serve as a community liaison which includes attending community and partner meetings representing the NMSBDC.  In addition, you will provide strategic marketing support for all programs, the Web site, social medial channels and other related activities.

    Your work at the NMSBDC will support the mission of Front Range Community College by providing grant funded consulting, training services and events targeted for small business owners in the community.

    SALARY: $54,600/annually

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, OUTREACH AND MARKETING

    • Develop and manage SBDC programming, based on needs analysis of clients including workshop development and training.
    • Supports SBDC consultants and workshop instructors including recruiting, training, supervising and managing performance to improve program quality and efficiency. This position will serve as the point person for consultants and instructors to address questions and handle complaints.
    • Proactively communicate these programs and services to SBDC clients and partners.
    • Analyze impact reports from clients and creates scorecard reports for the State SBDC office.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with outside resources for clients, including business professionals, non-profit service providers, public stakeholders (SBA, local government), and local city, county, economic development organizations and chambers of commerce.
    • Lead the marketing strategy for the NMSBDC including outreach, Web site, social media, and email marketing.
    • Develop written communications including press releases, newsletter articles, client success stories, annual reports and proposals.
    • Develop programming and support services for targeted industries along with women, minority and veteran entrepreneurs.

    OFFICE MANAGEMENT

    • Provides leadership for the NMSBDC by managing the day to day the operations of the center to ensure SBDC and FRCC policies and procedures are compliant with established guidelines.
    • Train new staff and oversees development of strategic partners.
    • Support budget development and management for the NM SBDC office, in conjunction with the Senior Director.
    • Oversee coordination of all SBDC consulting, training and special events, and serves as liaison with the media for SBDC marketing and promotions.
    • Provide back up for the NMSDBC Senior Director.

    • WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Create marketing material and communicate effectively with partners, stakeholders, customers through email, in person and on the phone.
    • DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION: Develop relationships with industry partners that support equity and inclusion initiatives to create opportunities for diverse entrepreneur populations.  Identify equity gaps within existing programs and identify opportunities to address those gaps. Develop programing, resources and marketing that addresses missing pieces around diversity, equity and inclusion.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration or related field and 2 years of business experience in small business management, business consulting or higher education instruction. This includes project management, program development, supervision of professional office environment, customer service, Web site and social media administration, marketing strategy development and program delivery.
