    PRIMARY DUTIES

     

    • Including but not limited to: 
    • Prepare for lab activities
    • Be informed of recipe and techniques/skills that correspond to recipe to be tackled
    • Ingredients, tools, set equipment, etc.
    • Organize invoices and bank statements 
    • Photocopying, faxing, run Scantron, recycling, shredding of documents, etc.
    • Replace lost/damaged sanitation and safety signage
    • Upload attendance in Desire2Learn
    • Do minor equipment maintenance
    • Receive delivery of food and other articles for post-secondary instructors
    • Able to check for quality, reject unacceptable food ingredients as per food safety guidelines
    • Sign delivery invoice
    • Able to store received products according to proper food safety storage guidelines
    • Replenish lab supplies
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab
    • Maintain organization of tools and ingredients in the lab, dry storage, refrigerators and freezers
    • Do deep cleaning of large equipment
    • Maintain inventory of cleaning/janitorial supplies (including but not limited to):
    • Ecolab Proforce® dishwashing liquid (pink detergent)
    • Ecolab Proforce® degreaser
    • Chlorine bleach
    • Bleach test strips
    • Ecolab Proforce® Oven, Grill, and Fryer Cleaner
    • Oven cleaner
    • Natural paper towels
    • Green and blue scrubbers
    • Griddle brick cleaner
    • Hand-wash foam soap

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS

     

    • At least 2 years experience in a commercial kitchen
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally 75 pounds
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel, email, fax, photocopying and other similar tasks
    • Mechanical inclination (tool and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting) and technology inclination are advantageous
    • Self-starter
    • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to ask pertinent questions
    • Works fast and efficiently but balanced with care and attention to detail
    • Must wear clean chef uniform or other safe and sanitary clothing at all times with hair and facial restraint

    Required Experience

    • Associate's Degree preferred
    • ServSafe Food Safety Foodhandler or Food Protection Manager Certification preferred
