    JOB TITLE:  Supplier Quality Engineer II

    HRIS JOB TITLE: Eng-Supplier-Quality-II

    SUMMARY Plan and conduct activities concerned with the supplier quality assurance by performing the following duties.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Obtain immediate root cause and corrective action on defects discovered at incoming inspection.

     

    Require and obtain immediate supplier rectification and corrective action.  Must obtain immediate response from supply base.

     

    Drive internal corrective action with immediate disposition for defects deemed Axcelis responsibility.

     

    Drive continuous improvement throughout supply base to meet quality and corporate goals.

     

    Perform supplier assessments and audits as required by audit plans.

     

    Provide presentation materials for the following meetings: Board of Directors, Quality, Supplier and Manufacturing.

     

    Make MRB decisions and drive immediate actions by working with responsible engineers.

     

    Responsible for measuring and hitting all inspection metrics including incoming defect rate, ship to stock rate, inspection backlog and SCAR metrics.

     

    Responsible for Quality performance to Goals 5S/Safety requirements.

     

    Responsible for departmental compliance to division’s ISO9000 Quality System and all associated procedures, including engineering drawings, assembly and test procedures, etc.

     

    Responsible for the assessment, development and execution of inspection schedules in accordance with company requirements to ensure schedule attainment.

     

    Manage safety reporting for the department.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE       Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Degree preferred: BS Engineering

     

     

       CERTIFICATE/LICENSES/SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

    Ability to travel on short notice.  Percent of travel required up to 10 %.

    Must have valid passport and be able to maintain a credit card to finance short-notice travel.

     

       OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

     

     ABILITY TO read, write, comprehend and speak English sufficiently well to perform job functions.

     Project Management. 

    KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with inspection tools and methods

    Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems Data Vault Product Data Management Systems or equivalent.

    SKILLS: Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Access and Excel
