    PEER OUTREACH COORDINATOR- RECOVERY SUPPORT CENTER (BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH PREFERRED)

    LOCATION: Springfield 

    The Peer Outreach Coordinator is responsible for ongoing community outreach and advocacy at an active recovery support center that develops and maintains peer-to-peer support services and activities provided for and by people in recovery from substance abuse. The recovery support center is encompassed in peer governance and uses the peer participatory process to create a safe, inclusive environment to promote ongoing growth and long-term recovery.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Identifying and networking with recovery-oriented community organizations   
    • Manages peer outreach at community activities
    • Responsible for developing educational and informational presentations on Recovery Support Center benefits
    • Assists with gathering required data for reports
    • Responsible for developing new member orientation and training Peer Volunteers on orienting new members
    • Responsible for virtual outreach to the community including social media and Zoom meetings and groups and collecting data from social media platforms

     

     

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Embrace and work in a culturally and linguistically diverse recovery community
    • Support all paths to recovery and have a minimum of 2 years of recovery or have lived experience as an individual affected by substance use disorder in the family
    • Have a comprehensive understanding of substance addiction and recovery
    • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
    • Have strong interpersonal boundaries
    • Have better than average experience using a computer and required software
    • Have experience and knowledge of the Holyoke community, its organizations, and service providers
    • Completion of Recovery Coach Academy or pending registration for RCA
