    WESTWOOD PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, INC. is seeking an Airport Engineer to join our Aviation team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This position gives you the chance to work with an energetic aviation staff on diversified projects such as airport planning, airfield layout and design, safety plans, airfield civil design and construction projects, facilities design and infrastructure, and environmental studies. Westwood’s Aviation group has a diversified range of projects that require preparing a variety of civil engineering and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) planning reports, studies and plans for large complex projects in a timely and proficient nature to produce solutions for our client’s success.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Work as a key member of the Aviation team under the direction of various Project Managers. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead civil engineering tasks, exceptional client services, manage quality and work well in a team environment.
    • Assist project managers and other staff in design oversight, coordination, and other tasks during the proposal, design, and construction phases.
    • Plan, schedule and provide work directions to junior staff as required.
    • Assist in cost estimating, permitting, client relations, and other duties required to deliver a quality product for our clients in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with other project managers to scope and execute deliverables on multiple projects.
    • Create and maintain a successful client relationship while building new relationships.
    • Some project assignments may include construction observation duties.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and ability to obtain your Professional Civil Engineering License.
    • Working knowledge of aviation planning, programming, design and construction is a plus.
    • Desired candidate will possess design experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Preferred candidate will have working experience with FAA Advisory Circulars and understanding of Bureau of Aeronautics policies and procedures.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills including, but not limited to verbal and written communication skills, active listening and negotiation skills, ability to understanding others’ perspectives.
    • Construction and estimating experience for public infrastructure projects is a plus.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • A related associates (or relevant current industry license or certification) and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years;
    • OR, a related Bachelor's or any Master's degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years.

     

    RELATED DEGREE, CREDENTIAL, AND/OR OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN:  Business, Business Management, Leadership, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Public Policy, Public Administrative, Accounting, Finance, Law

     

    PREFERRED EDUCATION

    • Master’s Business Administration, preferred – Concentration is statistics and statistical techniques.
