  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Instructional Designer is responsible for working with clinic and other stakeholders to design, develop, and evaluate learning solutions based on identified employee development objectives.  The Instructional Designer provides training design expertise and is accountable for the overall quality and effectiveness of courses designed.  Success in this role depends on a candidate’s knowledge of instructional design, course design, development concepts, and ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across company.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Consult with company stakeholders and management regarding learning design needs
    • Conduct learning needs analysis and integrate findings into course design
    • Gather expertise, content, and support from subject matter experts
    • Create detailed design of learning content, including detailed course outline, course storyboard, and potential integration with course curricula
    • Identify and recommend alternative design and delivery options to meet the needs of a learning request
    • Review detailed design with the key stakeholders
    • Review course design with internal / external content development teams to prepare for course development
    • Build learning materials for a variety of delivery media (e.g., Instructor-led, Web-based, Distance Learning, etc.)
    • Assist in developing evaluation tools for assessing effectiveness of courses
    • Assist in course authoring tools
    • Incorporate feedback from learning evaluation into future design and development activities
    • Ensure quality and consistency for all learning deliverables
    • Ensure adherence to standards, guidelines, and templates

    Required Experience

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Instructional Design/Training Development preferred

    • Healthcare field background preferred  

    • Ability to work independently and efficiently

    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in instructional design and/or technical writing; experience conducting needs analysis; knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities

    • Knowledge of emerging and progressive content design techniques and strategies; knowledge of e-learning standards and LMS courseware integration; knowledge of industry standards
