    We presently have an opportunity for a MANAGER, TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS – PRESIDENTS CUP in our Championship Management – Presidents Cup department.  This role is responsible for strategic implementation and the overall operational oversight of the 2021 Presidents Cup.  

     

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Sports Management required, or equivalent experience running a professional event.
    • Minimum of five years of operational experience required, with an equivalent major league event preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
    • Strong relationship building and organizational skills to execute the defined business plan.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • VENDOR MANAGEMENT. Solicit and manage scope of services associated with nationally contracted vendors and suppliers that provide tournament services including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical distribution, audio visual, carpentry, furniture, concessions & catering, tents, scaffolding, décor, landscaping, rental equipment, all elements of on-course staging, telecommunications and televisions, while also soliciting, negotiating, and executing locally contracted vendor and suppliers that provide services including, but not limited to, ecology, fencing, office trailers, restrooms, parking, and transportation.
    • BUDGET ADMINISTRATION AND EXPENSE MANAGEMENT.  Responsible for the management of the tournament operations budget with a focus of continuously identifying efficiencies while maintaining quality of the highest standards.  Main areas of focus include any and all on-course operational elements, shuttle buses & transportation, parking locations and security. 
    • TOURNAMENT OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT.  Oversee the onsite operations team in developing written and illustrative plans for security, clubhouse, hospitality areas, spectator venues, media center, parking lots and vendor compounds.  Produce site plans for municipal permitting and sponsor engagements.
    • TOURNAMENT BUILDOUT OVERSIGHT. Responsible for developing plans for tournament buildout by consistently communicating construction schedule with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, onsite operations staff, vendors, host site officials, community leadership and corporate partners.
    • RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT. Establish and maintain close professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to vendors, corporate partners, host club/community personnel, public safety personnel and government and local municipality personnel. 
    • OPERATIONS STAFF MANAGEMENT. Manage and determine all operations staff roles, responsibilities, timelines and expectations for all onsite operations staff which includes seasonal operational support and volunteer operational committees.
    • Develop and encourage staff to pursue new tasks and challenges related to overall departmental goals and objectives.
    • Contribute to departmental operations, including staffing, budget management/ cost containment, and internal communication.
    • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
