Position: Service Manager

About La Madre:
We are expanding our company and looking for a new Service Manager to replace someone who is moving up within the company. La Madre is an elevated Mexican restaurant located in the Mill District of Minneapolis, MN. We pride ourselves on offering a refined dining experience that blends traditional Mexican flavors with contemporary culinary techniques. Our company is expanding so we seek a passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead our Front of House team; ensuring that our guests experience the highest level of service.
Position Summary:
The Service Manager at La Madre will oversee and manage the daily operations of the Front of House (FOH) team, including Servers, Bartenders, Support Staff; Food Runners, and Hosts. This role requires a strong focus on elevated hospitality, continuous training, and coaching to ensure all team members provide exceptional service that aligns with La Madre's standards. The Service Manager will work closely with the General Manager and ownership to maintain operational excellence and drive the success of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the FOH team, including Servers, Food Runners, and Hosts.
Ensure all team members adhere to La Madre’s service standards and operational procedures. Including the steps of service and elevated hospitality.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Conduct regular team meetings to review service goals, updates, and areas for improvement.
Training & Development:
Develop and implement ongoing training programs for the FOH team, focusing on elevated hospitality, menu knowledge, and service techniques.
Provide hands-on coaching and feedback to ensure team members continuously improve and maintain high service standards.
Identify and address areas where additional training or support is needed, ensuring all team members are equipped to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Guest Experience:
Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their dining experience.
Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive resolution.
Monitor guest feedback and reviews, using insights to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily FOH operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service during all shifts.
Collaborate with the General Manager to optimize scheduling, staffing levels and manage labor costs.
Ensure the FOH team adheres to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Collaborate with chefs and bar managers for new food and beverage options and specials.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in all FOH areas.
Ensure that all service procedures are followed consistently, from greeting guests to processing payments.
Monitor the dining room to ensure all service aspects meet La Madre's elevated hospitality standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Service Manager, Floor Manager, or similar role. 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A deep understanding of elevated hospitality, with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure.
Knowledge of Mexican cuisine and culture is a plus.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
