    DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

    FRUIT OF THE LOOM, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for a CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER at its corporate headquarters in Bowling Green, KY.

    This position is responsible for supporting the VP, Corporate Communications, in the development and execution of global communications on behalf of the Company to support the Company's core business strategies, initiatives and programs.  Utilizing a varied range of written, verbal, and digital channels, the incumbent delivers collaborative, integrated communications to articulate corporate messaging and priorities in support the Company's reputation, positive culture, and engagement of the global workforce.

    The Corporate Communications Manager manages the planning and daily workflows of the company's PR agency to shape internal and external opinion of the organization and increase the awareness of its brands, plans, and various programs.  This position manages a team of employees responsible for the creative design of visual communication materials and technical support for communications on FruitNet, production of multimedia projects, AV support and photoshoots for brand product, and the corporate collection of branded archival materials.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

    INTERNAL COMMUNICATION: Responsible for assisting the CEO, CHRO, VP, departmental teams and global locations in the planning, managing and executing internal communication strategies and tactics designed to inform, align and engage the workforce at all levels and at all locations.

    • BUSINESS STRATEGIES AND PRIORITIES: Develop and deliver internal communications programs to support Fruit of the Loom's business priorities and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership to convey key messaging to the global workforce.
    • MANAGE CORPORATE GLOBAL INTRANET, CORPORATE WEBSITE AND SHAREPOINT CONTENT: Managing Editor for corporate intranet site and FOTLINC.com to provide regular updates of the business and corporate/regional programs and messaging. Partner with IT and Digital Services as necessary for site development and deployment. 
    • PR AGENCY MANAGEMENT:  Manage the day to day workflows and projects of the company's PR agency.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
      • Understand the organization's objectives and need to build PR strategies to address crisis management, services, and newsworthy communications.
      • Plan and direct the development of plans and programs to communicate the company's agenda and accomplishments.
      • Respond to information requests from the media and serve as acting spokesperson for the company.
    • EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: Utilize a variety of approaches to create and execute employee communication plans to ensure engagement initiatives are executed effectively, keeping employees informed about relevant programs and events including Fruitful Futures Sustainability Plan, Threads of Change and Green Teams. Utilize multi-channel platforms for optimal communication effectiveness.  Provide proactive, collaborative leadership to internal teams in the development and dissemination of employee communications.
    • COMMUNICATION ANALYTICS:  Measure and track results of designated communications and events for effectiveness through the design and implementation of online surveys.  Recommend improvement strategies as necessary to senior leadership.
    • CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Work collaboratively with senior leaders and Human Resources to support change management efforts as directed by senior leadership. Provide communication content and delivery mechanisms required to ensure internal organizations are aligned and employees stay engaged with change management programs.
    • VISUAL/TECHNICAL SUPPORT:  Partner with the Creative Manager for the visual development of materials, technical aspects of publishing communications via Fruit.net and FOTLINC.com and working with global HR Leads on stories relevant to their regions.
    • AUDIO/VISUAL:  Manage audio visual team, including the creative direction and production of all internal and external video projects and equipment needed for running meetings and presentations.   Oversees photoshoots for brand product.

    EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION: Responsible for assisting the CEO, CHRO, VP, departmental teams and global locations in the planning, managing and executing exnternal communication strategies and tactics designed to inform, align and engage the workforce at all levels and at all locations.

    • CORPORATE REPUTATION: Responsible for assisting the VP, Corporate Communications, with planning, management and execution of external communications strategies and tactics designed to manage the reputation, visibility and corporate identity of Fruit of the Loom, Inc.
    • FRUITFUL FUTURES SUSTAINABILITY PLAN:  Build positive relationships with customers, consumers, partners, and community leaders to identify opportunities that promote Threads of Change and Green Teams and our overall commitment to the organization's sustainability plan.
    • COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Partner with the Manager, Corporate Events and Community Relations in the development of outreach strategies involving various nonprofit organizations in the global communities where we operate that promotes Fruit of the Loom's commitment to community engagement and enrichment. 
    • COMPANY SPOKESPERSON:  Represent the Company's point of view when responding to approved media inquiries. Manage relationships with media members, influencers, and community leaders.
    • SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT:  Develop social media content representing the corporate voice to support employer branding proposition (e.g. LinkedIn).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 5 years of experience in corporate communications, journalism, or public relations.
    • Experience with photography and video production is desirable.
    • Experience with the Adobe creative suite software, Photoshop.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Library Science, Marketing or Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
    • Superior ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external publications.
    • Excellent verbal, written and information-gathering skills (writing portfolio required).
    • Proficient in computer and digital skills. Working knowledge of both PC and Mac platforms is desirable.
    • Strong collaborative skills to build partnerships across the organization.  Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams to present a coherent message.  Collaboration skills are paramount.
    • Clear understanding of business and how communication impacts various internal and external. 
    • Technical expertise in digital, social media, and website development.
    • Ability to work without direct supervision.
