    This is an essential position requiring the individual to provide continuous quality service to our customers. In addition, the individual will be working in a dual role. Being flexible and having the ability to multi-task while providing a high level of attention to detail and customer service. The individual is also expected to demonstrate logistical ability in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, where meeting time lines and commitments are crucial. Communications is a priority on order details, routes and pricing, etc. This person must be able to operate and drive numerous types of vehicle (box truck, cargo van) and maintain a clean and safe driving record and other training credentials as necessary.  Responsibilities: • Utilize courier software program to effectively manage courier drivers throughout all markets, enter customer orders, electronically dispatching drivers, keying in data pertaining to an order (such as waiting time, etc.) and closing out orders.   • Initiate scheduled routes.  • Train new dispatchers.  • Process and file all customer paperwork.  • Process and log Mission Critical Orders.  • Conduct certifications.  • Set up two way radios.  • Process cargo, FedEx and MNX orders.  • Answer basic customer care questions.  • All orders issues must be clearly documented in note section of an order.  • Interact with our clients, including communicating problems and updates as needed.  • Interact with drivers via phone or two-way radio to communicate special instructions.   • Solve the “logistical” challenges of meeting our client’s delivery needs by understanding the geography and driving conditions of our area.  • Foster a good working relationship between Vendor’s and the company.  • Have a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.  • Work in a fast-paced environment that may require multi-tasking and independent judgment.  • Operate a hand-held communications device.  • Have geographical knowledge of the markets being serviced.  • Maintain accuracy of 97% or higher.  • Must be in good attendance and performance standing.  • Obey local and state traffic laws while on duty, in company vehicle.  • Maintain a clean and safe driving record.  • Keep current on all driving safety laws, TSA screening, and other training credentials as necessary.   • Perform other duties as assigned.  Qualifications: • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prior Dispatch Experience Preferred.   LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. COMPUTER SKILLS: • Familiarity with keyboard required.  REASONING ABILITY: • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • TSA, Medical Certification, Valid VA Driver’s License Compensation: $13 hour
