    Location: Albany, NY

    Junior level role - Client is looking for someone with 2-3 years of professional experience

    Per client requirements - must be US Citizen or Green card holder status

    Client's goal is to hire Full Time after a period of Consulting

    Key Responsibilities

    • You’ll join their talented Development Team. Our project is built on a multi-tier architecture including service-oriented architecture (SOA), multi-tier web applications using Java, and various other COTS products.
    • Build and maintain highly complex, high-volume, large-scale, scalable, maintainable and extensible software on a Java/J2EE application stack using the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from concept, design and documentation to testing, ensuring compliance with specifications and adherence to coding standards.
    • Analyze user and business needs and functionality to plan and assist with the design of software systems that meet those needs.

     

    Required:

    • 2–3 years of experience in software development with an understanding of Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, ORM tools, Java build tools, JUnit testing, web services, relational databases and SQL
    • 1 year of large-scale application experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Ability to write simple and complex SQL queries, preferably with DB2 SQL syntax including PL/SQL
    • Good analytical and multitasking skills
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; apply critical thinking and creative problem solving

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Healthcare, Medicaid or Health Exchange experience
    • Experience with Angular
    • Foundational knowledge of prompt engineering principles for working effectively with AI models
    • Knowledge of IDE-based AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Kiro or Claude Code to accelerate boilerplate generation, debugging and unit testing
