    The Safety Coordinator is the first line of defense for the safety of all employees. The Safety Coordinator acts as the liaison between the staff and management and creates an environment where employees can feel open about bringing up safety-related concerns. As a Safety Coordinator you will work closely with the Regulatory Compliance Manager to implement current and changing requirements to ensure the safety of all employees throughout the facility. You will monitor all operations and develop various controls to eliminate and minimize hazardous activities. To be a great Safety Coordinator your work shall be mostly focused on prevention rather than reaction.

    Your primary goals and responsibilities include:  Ensure that the IIPP is in place and being followed by all employees  Assist in developing, implementing, and application of policies and procedures promoting safety awareness in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs such as Hazard Communication, Exposure Control, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Action Plan, IIPP, GMP’s, and other programs  Conduct regular inspections/safety walks, safety meetings, audits, and assist with agency inspections  Prepare materials and conduct safety related trainings, tailgates, both verbal and hands on instructions  Ensure all safety and compliance training is up to date in accordance with regulatory requirements  Conduct thorough accident/incident investigations finding root causes and creating solutions  Maintain records of safety and health documents/files and logs such as safety logs, MSDS/SDS sheets, incident/accident tracker and other related safety materials  Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues, advising of safety risks  Follow up with employees regarding safety concerns  Intervene in unsafe activities or operations  Work with contractors to include monthly evaluations, facility orientation, etc  Issue permits such as Hot Work, Confined Workspace, etc  Complete assigned PSM/ RMP duties  Assist Maintenance and Sanitation as needed  Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications  High school diploma or equivalent certification; additional experience may be in lieu of education  1 year of experience in a manufacturing, processing plant, or warehouse environment  Experience with implementing safety training programs  Bilingual English/Spanish  Maintain a current forklift driver trainer certification  Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices  Stay up to date with safety regulatory requirements  Intermediate skill with MS Office
