Missouri Organic Recycling Job Expectations for Full-Time Cashier

As a Cashier at one of our city drop sites, you will be an essential part of our mission to recycle brush, trees, plants, yard waste, food waste, and more, transforming them into mulch, compost, and soil products that support greener landscapes and gardens.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

• Integrity – Demonstrate an authentic commitment to moral and ethical behavior.

• Excellence – Maintain a disciplined approach to achieve outstanding results through continuous improvement.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.

• Dependability and punctuality are essential.

• Comfortable working in an outdoor environment, as needed.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities:

• Process register transactions for sales and returns accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with customers and colleagues.

• Answer phone calls and emails promptly, courteously, and effectively.

• Communicate any issues requiring management assistance.

• Develop and maintain product knowledge to assist customers with site layout and product locations.

• Follow all cash register transaction procedures and ensure the register drawer is balanced at the end of the shift.

• Ensure the front-end area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with bagged and bulk products at all times.

• Availability to work Saturdays as needed.

• Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by management.
