Job Summary:
The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) provides personal care and related services in the home under the direction, instruction, and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed healthcare professional. The CHHA helps patients maintain their independence and dignity while ensuring their safety and comfort at home.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and dishwashing.
Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) as instructed.
Assist with range of motion exercises and prescribed therapy activities.
Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition to the supervising nurse.
Follow the patient care plan as directed by nursing staff.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Valid and current Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in CA.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least 2years of experience in home care or a similar setting preferred.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if travel required).
CPR certification may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending, stretching, kneeling, and standing.
Capable of assisting clients with mobility and physical transfers.
