Full-Time Family Assistant in Mint Hill for a 4, 9, and 11-Year-Old
Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Mint Hill, NC in finding a Full-Time Family Assistant for their family of five, including a 4-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl. The Family Assistant would typically be needed Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be flexible to arrive early or stay late occasionally and will be able to work overnight shifts a few times per year.
The best Family Assistant would be dependable, reliable, and highly communicative, with a strong ability to keep the family informed about day-to-day household matters. This individual values open communication, demonstrates excellent judgment, and proactively anticipates the family’s needs while knowing when to check in for guidance. Strong executive functioning skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
This role requires flexibility with transportation, including consistent afternoon pickups and occasional morning support. While the children are in school, the Family Assistant will be responsible for the household duties listed below. The role also includes transporting the oldest child to therapy appointments.
The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with the children. Experience supporting children with special needs is important, as the oldest child has autism. A gentle, problem-solving approach to parenting is valued, and the Family Assistant should be comfortable collaborating with parents on discipline strategies while meeting the children at their developmental level. When the children are home, the Family Assistant should actively engage the children in meaningful activities, including outdoor play, pool time in the summer, and outings such as visits to Discovery Place, nature centers, parks, and museums. Encouraging involvement in everyday tasks like cooking, as well as playing board games and fostering creativity, will be an important part of the role.
