    Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Weaverville, NC, in finding a Full-Time Family Assistant for their family of four, including a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old. The Family Assistant would typically be needed Monday - Friday, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm (35 - 40 hours a week). One week each month, the assistant will have the opportunity to work additional hours when Dad travels, and it would be a plus if the assistant could travel with the family internationally on occasion.

    The best Family Assistant would be someone who thrives in a dual role that blends hands-on childcare with household management responsibilities. This position is ideal for a candidate who genuinely loves children, is naturally organized and tidy, and brings a warm, playful, and fully engaged presence to each day. The Family Assistant will provide 3-4 hours of high-quality screen-free childcare, while actively participating in imaginative play such as dolls, fairies, stickers, crafts, reading, and outdoor activities. This is a role for someone with high energy who enjoys being on the floor playing and connecting with children. Each day will often begin with one-on-one engagement with the four-year-old while mom cares for the infant, supporting a nurturing and loving environment.

    In addition to childcare, the role includes household support to help the home run smoothly. Responsibilities include chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients for family meals, cleaning the high chair, loading the dishwasher, tidying the kitchen while parents manage bath and bedtime routines, assisting with laundry, particularly during dinner time, and running occasional errands. The ideal candidate will anticipate the needs of the household and work closely with the stay-at-home mom in a collaborative “divide and conquer” partnership.

    Nanny Responsibilities Include:

    • Meeting daily scheduling needs of the children (Feeding, Changing, Napping)

    • Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level

    • Playing with the children both inside and outside the home

    • Doing hands-on learning activities with the children

    Household Duties Include:

    • Family laundry and changing family sheets weekly

    • Family meal prep, the family is gluten and dairy-free, and will provide recipes for the Family Assistant to follow

    • Unloading/loading dishwasher

    • Wiping down kitchen counters

    • Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the children

    • Emptying the diaper pail and taking out the trash

    • Running errands

    • Package management

    • Putting away grocery deliveries

    Qualifications:

    • Have at least 3 years of professional experience

    • Have a college degree or equivalent experience

    • Have a professional resume

    • Fill out a complete online application

    • Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

    • Have a valid driver’s license

    • Have safe and reliable transportation

    • Have a minimum of three professional references

    • Be non-smoking/vaping

    • Family Assistant should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

    • Prefers the candidate to be unvaccinated from COVID-19 and the annual flu vaccine

    Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:

    • This position starts ASAP

    • Legal pay is offered at an hourly rate of $30, negotiable depending on experience
