Currently developing and building in the Denver Metro Area, with projects in Broomfield, Erie, and Longmont, among others, Chartered is thrilled to be expanding its team.

    Position Summary

    Chartered is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Full-Time Multifamily Construction General Laborer to support construction activities on one or more of its large-scale multifamily projects located in Broomfield, Erie, and Longmont, Colorado by working with tools, participating in punch lists and executing self-perform work in support of the project and other skilled trades/craft work. General laborers utilize a variety of tools and specialized equipment. Duties may include site cleanup, loading, unloading, handling and distributing materials, fixtures and other activities, as needed. This is a broad representation of the type of tasks and requirements required of General Laborers. This role will report directly to the General Laborer, Foreman, working in close coordination with the Superintendent and Project Manager.     Construction Activities

    • Work with various tools to complete specific assigned tasks on a project.
    • Show up and is ready to work when scheduled and adheres to behavioral standards.
    • Communicate absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible.
    • Track and report units and labor hours, including filling out and submitting timecards.
    • Understand and maintains established quality levels associated with duties.
    • Assist Project Manager in documenting key information such as activities, productions and crew sizes.
    • Assist Project Manager and other skilled trades by loading, unloading, and distributing materials as assigned.
    • Assist in dismantling and transporting of construction materials.
    • Collect and disposes accumulated trash on and around jobsite on daily basis.
    • Perform general cleaning and trash removal for jobsite trailer.
    • Organize and clean conex containers and gang boxes daily.
    • Responsible for construction gate duty and flagging responsibilities.
    • Maintain proper care and the appropriate number of tools and equipment necessary to support productions specific to a project.
    • Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards, including participation in all safety activities.

    Other Requirements

    • Ability and willingness to reliably commute to site field office and projects, including reliable transportation, is required.
    • Personal smart phone with access to time and labor management system is required.
    • Basic proficiency with computers and tablets, including Microsoft applications, is a plus.
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
    • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
    • Moderate physical and mental fitness is a requirement, including:
      • Ability to sustain frequent physical activities, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling, balancing.
      • Ability to climb stairs, reach above shoulder, and exercise good hand and finger dexterity in the course of performing activities, stocking and removing equipment, and handling tools and equipment in the course of work.
      • Ability to lift and carry various supplies and equipment of different sizes and weights in the course of work. Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds.
      • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
      • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs, if needed.
      • Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches).

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Vocational/Technical degree in related field is preferred.
    • 1-2 years construction experience preferred.

    Work Environment

    Chartered runs a small, family-oriented office, so a “Yes” attitude is vital to success in this role. This position is full-time and located at one of Chartered’s construction field offices. Work is required to be performed in-person at the applicable field office and project job site. This is not a remote position. There may be periods of extended work hours as well as stressful periods of work that require flexibility and patience. Candidates must be able to receive direction as well as be able to communicate and give clear, consistent instruction and/or feedback to others. This is a big position where there is no task too small. All employees wear multiple hats, which keeps everyday new and exciting.
