    Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Weddington, NC in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their 4-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter with special needs (the family has three other children, two away at college and one in High School). The Nanny would typically be needed Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, and Friday, 7:30 am - 1:30 pm. It would be a plus (but not required) if the Nanny had the flexibility to switch Fridays for an occasional Sunday.

    The best Nanny for this family would be warm, energetic, patient, and dedicated to caring for a very active 4-year-old and an easygoing 18-year-old with special needs. Enthusiasm, kindness, a love for the outdoors, and the ability to form connections while supporting daily growth and routines are key qualities for this position.

    An important part of this position is providing transportation to and from school for both children. Each day will start by taking their daughter to school, which is approximately a 1-hour round trip. Once home, the Nanny will assist the younger child with his morning routine before taking him to school (less than 5 minutes from home). While both children are in school, the Nanny will work on the child-related tasks listed below. School pick-ups are part of the schedule for both children; some days, dad, who works from home, will keep the 4-year-old while the Nanny picks up their daughter.

    During the afternoon, before picking up the daughter, the Nanny should engage their son in fun activities, utilizing the family's several acres of land. Their son loves to be outside—playing in the yard, exploring the woods, swimming, riding bikes, dancing, and playing with their dogs. He also enjoys arts and crafts, puzzles, and car-themed play.

    Their daughter is nonverbal, easygoing, and does not require specialized medical or behavioral care; she simply needs gentle support, consistency, and transportation. This position is perfect for a Nanny who enjoys an active, nature-filled day, values patience and positive connection, and is confident in balancing both caregiving and simple household support.

    Childcare Responsibilities Include:

    • Meeting the daily scheduling needs of the children
    • Providing transportation to and from school
    • Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level
    • Playing with the children both inside and outside the home

    Household Duties Include (Children will be in school for 4 hours each day, and the majority of the following duties can be completed during that time.)

    • Children’s laundry
    • Children’s meal prep, including dinner and packing school lunches
    • Unloading/loading the dishwasher
    • Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the child
    • Picking up after the nanny and the child throughout the day
    • Keeping children’s rooms and play areas tidy
    • Grocery shopping for the children

    Pets:

    The family has 2 very friendly dogs, a Great Dane and a Yellow Lab. There are no animal duties other than an occasional pat on their head.

    Qualifications:

    • Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience
    • Have a High School Diploma
    • Have a professional resume

    • Have a valid driver’s license
    • Have safe and reliable transportation

    • Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus

    Start Date, Salary, and Benefits

    • Legal pay is offered at $27-$30 an hour, depending on experience
    • Continued pay while the family is away
