New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute (NJPNI) is the largest provider of pediatric neuroscience care in the state of New Jersey. As such, we are seeking a full-time Pediatric Dietitian to join our collaborative care team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialty setting, supporting children and families with complex neurological conditions through evidence-based, compassionate nutritional care.
About the Role: The Pediatric Dietitian will work closely with our neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurse practitioners, social worker, and other support staff to provide individualized nutrition care plans for children with a variety of neurological and developmental conditions. This role involves direct patient care, family education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in program development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for pediatric patients with neurological disorders (e.g., epilepsy, autism, ADHD, neuromuscular conditions).
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
Provide education and counseling to families on therapeutic diets (e.g., modified Atkins, anti-inflammatory) and general pediatric nutrition.
Collaborate with medical providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Document assessments, interventions, and progress in the electronic health record.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning.
Support practice initiatives, such as patient education materials, group classes, or research and educational projects.
Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
Must be licensed in New Jersey.
Experience in pediatric nutrition required; experience in neurology or therapeutic diets strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to support and guide families.
