    POSITION SUMMARY:  

    The Materials Planner will be responsible for material scheduling in order to ensure direct materials meet production requirements and forecast demand with minimum stock levels, while optimizing cost.  This position will be proactively monitoring parts flow and contacting vendors to ensure on time delivery. This position will collaborate across departments to identify alternatives in the event a part cannot deliver by the needed date.

    The role requires active coordination with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance.  This position will also be responsible for various performance metrics including fill rate, inventory value, DOH, etc.  As part of this responsibility, this individual will also be directly accountable for the interplant planning and execution of the S&OP supply planning process.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Monitor inventory levels, customer demand, production schedules, inventory transactions and rejected material.

    • Monitor inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure accurate inventory placement and levels

    • Balance supply & demand, maintaining appropriate inventory levels using min-max, and/or reorder point planning.

    • Identifies and resolves supply issues, expedites critical orders.

    • Validates and meets the monthly inventory days of supply/on hand by product code and facilitates the reduction of excess inventory.

    • Ensure strategies support customer requirements:

    • Min-Max planning and inventory levels

    • Maintain weeks of supply with retailers and FOB plants

    • Ability to understand and react to customer's method of communication requirements (i.e.; EDI. Customer Portals, Supplier Portals, etc.)

    • Maintains PFEP to keep item attributes and planning parameters up to date.

    • Provide input to the Production Planning and Inventory Management process owners in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and active product phase-outs to achieve optimal inventory levels, and ultimately improve customer service/satisfaction level. 

    • Coordinates with Demand Planning, Supply planning, Purchasing, NPD,  R&D, Operations and production scheduling in planning executable inventory levels.

    • Responsible for maintaining and publishing reports relating to material management KPIs such as such as fill rates, days on hand, weeks of supply on a monthly basis. Discuss tracking to hit business goals, targets and implications.

    • Identify areas of continuous improvement across materials planning process and tools

    • Perform other duties as needed and directed by management.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, warehouse management, or similar preferred
    • 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, and/or production scheduling
    • Knowledge of forecasting, production scheduling, materials planning and inventory management tools and concepts necessary to analyze optimal placement and velocity of materials required in the manufacturing and distribution process
    • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and capable of communicating effectively with customers and senior management.
    • Expert in Microsoft Excel
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
