Our client is an investment firm. They seek a temp Fund Accountant to join their New Canaan, CT office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting across multiple venture capital funds and co-invest vehicles
• Manage the fund reporting process, including valuation, capital account statements, capital calls, distributions, etc.
• Review work of external fund administrators, including close packages, IRRs, MOIC, management fees, etc.
• Work with auditors and tax advisors to drive timely year-end audit and tax compliance across fund entities
• Develop and maintain internal fund level books and records, including partner allocations
• Run fund liquidity projections, support cash management, and manage the expense reimbursement process
• Contribute to the management company's accounting and reporting processes
• Support CFO and investor relations with LP communications, reporting, and fundraising deliverables
• Liaise cross-functionally with deal teams and third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely outputs
• Propose and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, eGiciency, and scalability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of relevant fund accounting experience
• Venture capital or private equity industry background
• Experience maintaining internal shadow books is a plus
• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• CPA preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
