Job Summary
The Fund Accountant provides specialized accounting support for commingled investment portfolios within the business line. Leveraging fund accounting technology, Fund Accountants complete aspects of net asset value execution including transactions, capital stock, expenses, corporate actions, cash, and special handling, as well as break identification and resolution. They ensure daily accounting deliverables are accurate and timely.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as primary contact for derivative valuation inquiries; verify information and escalate issues as needed.
Manage daily volume while maintaining departmental quality and timeliness standards.
Monitor and assist in the resolution of accounting issues, including breaks and past dues.
Follow up on open inquiries and interact with other BBH departments to resolve issues.
Communicate professionally to minimize risk and exposure.
Contribute to management reporting (e.g., Clarity, PVCs, R&A analysis, cash breaks).
Gain understanding of how specific functions impact the firm and contribute to process improvements.
Manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently despite resource and time constraints.
Qualifications & Competencies
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills
Strong problem-solving and escalation abilities
