The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Fund Accountant to join a growing finance team in Dallas. This isn't a "back-office" processing role; you will be an integral part of the investment lifecycle, responsible for the financial integrity and reporting of our flagship funds.
The ideal candidate is currently a Senior Associate in Public Accounting (Audit or Assurance) who is ready to exit the billable-hour treadmill and pivot into a high-growth, "buy-side" career. You will apply your forensic eye for detail to complex fund structures, capital calls, and portfolio valuations.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Operations: Manage the full cycle of fund accounting, including the oversight of third-party administrators to ensure accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
Capital Management: Coordinate the execution of capital calls and distributions, ensuring precise tracking of partner commitments and unfunded mandates.
Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements, including the Schedule of Investments, and manage the year-end audit process with external firms.
Investment Support: Partner with the deal teams to track portfolio company performance, manage management fee calculations, and oversee waterfall distributions (carried interest).
Compliance & Treasury: Monitor fund liquidity, manage credit facilities, and ensure compliance with Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs).
The Ideal Profile
The Foundation: 2–4 years of experience in Public Accounting (Audit or Assurance) is required. We value the "audit brain"—the ability to understand internal controls and trace complex transactions from inception to financial statement.
The Credentials: Active CPA license (or a clear path to completion) is highly preferred.
The Industry Edge: Direct experience auditing Private Equity, Hedge Funds, or Real Estate funds is a significant advantage, but we will train a "Top Tier" generalist auditor with a strong interest in Alternative Investments.
The Toolkit: Advanced Excel skills are non-negotiable. You should be comfortable building and navigating complex workbooks involving pivot tables and intricate formulas.
The Mindset: A "Dallas-speed" worker—someone who is proactive, highly communicative, and thrives in a lean, sophisticated team environment.
