Job Description

Source International, a manufacturer of custom seating products for the office furniture industry, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Supply Chain Manager to the direct the supply chain and purchasing functions to achieve service and inventory goals, as well as develop processes to drive improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Sourcing new and alternative vendors for our ever-evolving product mix, and mitigate cost increases

· Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities, including but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial (AP) performance, and material shortage elimination.

· Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked and reported on as required for supply-based management.

· Develop and maintain a high-performance culture, resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs and improved levels of customer service to interior and exterior customers.

· Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support business needs.

· Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level while keeping inventory on hand at the appropriate levels.

· Manage materials savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives.

· Identify and develop key talent and appropriately manage underperformers to ensure success of all individuals in the department.

· Collaborate with Inventory Management team to ensure accurate Forecasting and inventory planning.

· Liaise with counterparts in other functional areas such as Sales, Product Management, and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.

· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

· Identify vendor opportunities and challenges and partner with the Product Management team to ensure appropriate resolution

· Locate vendors of material, parts or supplies and services for ideal availability and terms.

· Thorough understanding of fully burdened costs & profitability in a manufacturing setting.

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree or experience equivalent to 5+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing with experience in the manufacturing industry

· Experience in the contract furniture industry a plus, but not required.

· Solid track record meeting substantial material cost reduction targets.

· Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Windows-based PC programs.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent negotiation, organizational and problem solving skills.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.

· Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.

· Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally.
