    The Warehouse Furniture Supervisor position manages and coordinates activities of workers in our furniture warehouse.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Oversee the pulling, loading and shipping of merchandise to stores or delivery hub locations for display on the showroom floor or for delivery to customers’ homes.

    Adjust staffing levels/schedules according to volume/priorities/holidays, etc.

    Ensure merchandise is pulled.

    Manage the flow of damaged merchandise to be salvaged or donated. Return damaged merchandise to vendor, arrange for return credit.

    Arrange for transport of merchandise donated to charitable organizations.

    Oversee customer pick-ups to ensure the process runs accordingly.

    Ensure the exterior of the pick-up bays are consistently straightened, shined and standardized.

    Assist guests with questions regarding their purchase; directing them to the appropriate associate if the answer is not readily available.

    Promote loss prevention initiatives by verifying customer order and paperwork. Immediately follow-up on suspicious activity.

    Ensure associates are wearing safety equipment and adhering to safety standards.

    Maintain department to ensure equipment is serviced when necessary, inventory is accurate, returns are properly handled, guest fraud is investigated; office and warehouse supplies are in stock; ensure the department is properly staffed and adhering to company appearance standards.

    Comply with all applicable company safety standards.

    Oversee the investigation and resolution of inventory counts that don’t match or inventory unable to locate.

    Assist various departments with deliveries for special events.

    Ensure warehouse equipment is functioning properly.

    Identify areas for improvement within the warehouse; develop, implement and administer procedures and processes that improve operations.

    Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.

    Issue written and oral instructions.

    Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.

    Interview and hire new employees.

    Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.

    Confer with other managers outside of the distribution center to ensure coordination of other functions such as inventory management and quality assurance.

    Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.

    Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.

    Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers and internal and external customer satisfaction.

    Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.

    Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.

    Perform other functions as needed and required.

    MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

    Provide input on promotions; establish work schedules; manage time and attendance; provide training including cross-training; assign, direct and review work; write and deliver performance reviews; and address performance/conduct issues through the corrective action process for the Warehouse staff as assigned.

    Education/Certification/Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent

    Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment including a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory role.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proficient in OSHA regulations. Demonstrated ability in planning and managing multiple projects, and in problem analysis and problem resolution. Strong decision making and negotiating skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Strong customer orientation with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. Knowledgeable in Word, Excel and computer operating systems.

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    100% of scheduled work shift in the warehouse environment and as needed in an office environment. In the warehouse environment: frequently stands, walks, bends, stoops, crouches, kneels, climbs, push and pull heavy objects, reach above shoulder level and lifts at least one hundred (100) lbs. In the office environment: normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.

    Salary: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
