    Job Description

    Fuse is looking for a Project Manager to lead user-focused engineering and design for a concept that merges information from autonomous communications systems and data links into a single operational picture with an intuitive UI. In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of project execution and provide strategic guidance to the team and stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have experience in technical leadership and full life-cycle product development including all aspects of the test cycle for complex technical systems. This project focuses on DoD network and tactical communications providing a variety of communications abilities to Navy platforms including tactical data links, RF, and IP data. This engineering minded technical manager must be a nimble self-starter who is passionate about enhancing operator capabilities with user-focused communication, network, and software systems.

    Warfighter-focused design and development is at the heart of Fuse processes. Throughout Fuse software development our experienced team applies the best practices of commercial design-think, coupled to the DoD systems engineering framework. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives Fuse an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. With an Agile approach to development (for both software and hardware) Fuse rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action, and refining those concepts through hands on test, user evaluation, and iteration.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide strategic guidance to project teams and stakeholders
    • Manage budget, schedule and deliverables
    • Support end-user workshops to determine desired system functionality and use-cases
    • Ensure system is developed to meet user-defined requirements, desired functionality, and key performance parameters
    • Ensure end-user and warfighter needs are woven into the heart of system design
    • Oversee internal development level test
    • Execute technical demonstrations in preparation for official test events
    • Verify system objectives are met with comprehensive test cycles
    • Input for test plans
    • Input for data collection plans
    • Develop test reports and analysis
    • Manage overall system IMS and POA&M
    • Develop and execute project charter
    • Ensure system development environment and system attributes align with security requirements
    • Direct interface with customer, support status meetings and reports

    CANDIDATE CORE COMPETENCIES:

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field of study or Bachelor’s degree with related experience in an engineering field
    • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in designing, development and implementing technical systems
    • Strong system troubleshooting skills
    • Understanding of system test process
    • Experience with DoD R&D process and life cycle management
    • Working knowledge and experience with military networking systems
    • Experience leading teams in the engineering development, testing and deployment of complex systems
    • Experience in producing test plans
    • Experience planning and executing complex, multi-node test scenarios
    • Experience in agile, professional SW development environments
    • U.S. citizenship
    • Current US SECRET Clearance

    HIGHLY DESIRED:

    • Experience with US Navy Communications networks and C4ISR
    • Management Degree, MBA, or similar certification (such as PMP)
    • Understanding of Tactical Data Links
    • Experience leading development of software based systems
    • Understanding of networking and network troubleshooting
