    Job Description

    Fuse is looking for a Software Systems Test Engineer to lead integration and test efforts for an innovative concept that merges information from communications systems and data links into a single operational picture with an intuitive UI. In this role, you will work with requirements, design, and software teams to develop, integrate, validate and verify, and prepare this system for deployment to US Navy fleet operators. Ideal candidates will have experience in technical leadership and full life-cycle product development including all aspects of the test cycle for complex technical systems. This project focuses on DoD network and tactical communications providing a variety of communications abilities to Navy platforms including tactical data links, RF, and IP data. Must be a nimble self-starter who is passionate about enhancing operator capabilities with user-focused communication, network, and software systems.

    Warfighter-focused design and development is at the heart of Fuse processes. Throughout Fuse software development our experienced team applies the best practices of commercial design-think, coupled to the DoD systems engineering framework. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives Fuse an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. With an Agile approach to development (for both software and hardware) Fuse rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action, and refining those concepts through hands on test, user evaluation, and iteration. Fuse is looking for a Software Systems Test Engineer ready to jump in with the existing R&D team and help drive forward innovative approaches to improving existing systems and enhancing their capabilities in multiple operational environments.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support software design and development of dynamic tactical systems

    • Support integration between hardware, software, and network systems

    • Conduct and support test planning, execution, and post event reporting

    • Validate and verify system functionalities including UI display accuracy and reliability

    • Analyze test data, develop test reports, system diagrams, technology briefs and presentations

    • Define subsystem requirements and specifications

    • Conduct research and analysis of system interface documents in order to define, document, and design system connections and architecture

    • Interpret and research system interface documents in support of designing/defining/documenting how systems will interconnect

    • Translate customer requirements into subsystem and system specifications

    • Leverage industry experts to find solutions to complex problems

    • Provide on-site and distance operational support

    • Create, review, and update technical documentation and diagrams

     

    CANDIDATE CORE COMPETENCIES:

    REQUIRED:

    • Experience with engineering development, testing and deployment of complex systems

    • Experience managing and testing software interfaces and projects

    • Experience with Requirements Traceability

    • Strong technical network troubleshooting skills with the ability to trace technical issues within

    multiple systems

    • Strong oral, written and spoken communication

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information System, Engineering, Scientific or related Technical Field from an accredited college or five years equivalent experience

    • Experience with U.S. Navy or other armed services warfare programs or systems

    • Experience in system design, testing, and analysis

    • Current US SECRET Clearance

    HIGHLY DESIRED:

    • Understanding of Tactical Data Link and IP communications principles, radios, data analysis and data collection

    • Knowledge of Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) or other relevant systems

    • Experience creating detailed system level interconnect block diagrams utilizing supplier data sheets

    • Experience with User Interface design

    • Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guidelines

    • Experience in agile, professional software development environments utilizing revision control, test driven development and continuous integration
