    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Commissioning Engineer Intern will be involved in all commissioning activities throughout the POD design, manufacturing, and testing process including deviation resolution, project closeout, and customer training. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    COMMISSIONING DOCUMENTATION GENERATION 40%

    • Creates test procedures to confirm design and installation of all POD mechanical, electrical, process equipment and POD Automation System.

    • Verifies that all equipment used in the POD meets industry standards.

    • Develops Commissioning Strategy, FAT, and SAT documentation for each POD.

    • Creates punch list to track items requiring correction.

    COMMISSIONING EXECUTION 40%

    • Travels to job sites, interacts well with customer (Up to 40% of the time to various suppliers, collaborators and client sites outside of College Station.)

    • Executes FAT and SAT

    • Leads Commissioning activities.

    • Follows Good Documentation Practices to ensure  that tests performed are clearly and legibly documented.  

    • Documents any discrepancies/deviations that occur during testing.

    • Performs Root Cause Analysis of issues and works with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the correction of issues.

    • Follows customer SOPs in gowning and performing testing in pharmaceutical cleanroom environments.

    • Performs on-site training of customer personnel so that each customer can maintain the PODs.

    RECORD KEEPING AND DOCUMENTATION 10% 

    • Maintains documentation for work performed.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Biology, Construction Science, or other degree relevant to Pharmaceutical Industry.

    Intermediate Skill in basic computer functions such as word processors, spreadsheets, and internet usage

    LANGUAGE ABILITIES:

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and work place policies. Ability to analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to analyze and interpret technical research journals.  Ability to write professional correspondences.  Ability to present information in small group and large group situations to customer, strategic business partners, the general public, and other employees.  Ability to effectively present information to administrators, management, and other employees.

    REASONING ABILITIES:

    Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to carry out business objectives. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
