    G.E.C. Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer (bridges and other structures) to join their team.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum, advanced degree a plus
    • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Louisiana, or the ability to gain registration through reciprocity within 6 months
    • Minimum 5 years, after PE Licensure, in an engineering role in the design of Bridges and other Structures and in the preparation of construction plans

    JOB PREREQUISITES:

    • In-depth knowledge of advanced computer software used in the design of concrete and steel structures and bridges
    • Familiarity with highway and bridge design and the associated construction drawings
    • Experience with LADOTD, or similar agency, requirements and standards pertaining to roadway and bridge projects

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    • Assist Project Managers and Engineers in design oversight, coordination, and CADD related tasks during the proposal, design, and construction phases of bridge projects
    • Perform quality assurance reviews of the design activities of design team members
    • Assist in the review of roadway and bridge design calculations and plan submittals, shop drawing submittals, Contractor proposals, requests for information, change orders, etc.
    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
    • Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule

    HOURS:

    Monday thru Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm

    Friday 7:30am to 11:30pm

    Hours may vary based upon work requirements
