    JOB SUMMARY

    Works with contracted customers to develop and implement, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with customer and product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls. Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products as requested by the customer.

    Seeks additional growth opportunities with customers to consult on manufacturing processes and methods.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Develops and implements, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards 
    • Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls 
    • Coordinate’s manufacturing launch for new or revised products 
    • Oversee, initiate, and provide maintenance strategy improvement activities in line with production-limiting events, planned outages, and sustaining corrective actions 
    • Oversee the development of a Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) program for current, and future commissioning equipment lines; and the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with management needs 
    • Manage the corrective action and countermeasure planning directives for repetitive and rare production equipment limiters, and engage the correct cross-functional teams for corrective action planning and implementation 
    • Optimize product flow and line efficiency by designing or improving tools, jigs, stations, work methods, and ergonomics using the 5S methodology regarding the maintaining and sustaining of industrial production equipment 
    • Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team, and maintenance technician teams to initiate, and plan for critical, routine, and preventative maintenance plans for existing and new equipment line commissioning 
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs 
    • Drive process control and process development, specifically in the areas of equipment capability metrics 
    • Utilize knowledge of electrical and mechanical assemblies to predict equipment failure modes and proactively set and establish preventative maintenance schedules 
    • Work independently, with vendors, and with maintenance teams to understand root cause of failures, propose design or component changes, and implement and validate equipment modifications from a sustaining operations standpoint 
    • Generate and maintain equipment maintenance specifications to assist maintenance technicians and leadership with documented recovery and sustaining plans in tandem with vendor/supplier documentation 
    • Maintain tool and spare part BOMs and ensure proper part availability 
    • Perform trials to test the effect of equipment improvements 
    • Actively use tool data sources to quantitatively evaluate and track tool performance and create programs to improve relevant metrics under the guidance of manufacturing leadership 
    • Drive other projects as needed by management or as business needs change

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing/Reliability Engineering, or similar
    • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical and electrical experience in a production environment; or in a plant industrial maintenance role
    • Ability to work flexible scheduling and hours as production and maintenance needs change; this may include days, evenings, and flexible weekends for support
    • Experience with Catia3DX or other 3D CAD software
    • Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively achieve results with multiple vendors and internal and external customers; demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams
    • Knowledge of, or experience with drilling, tapping, and utilizing basic shop tools
    • Working knowledge of data analysis, statistics, SPC, and quality improvement
    • Able to maintain organization and focus in a highly dynamic environment
    • Excellent communicator, both in presentations and written reports
    • Occasionally exposed to work in outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain
    • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends
    • Ability to lift 50 lb

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

    • Direct experience with Allen Bradley PLC controls, FANUC automation equipment, and GRACO dispense equipment highly preferred
    • Familiarity with complex capital equipment (robot, precision dispenser, laser welder) and their electrical systems 
    • Experience with Trumpf lasers or other laser welding applications 
    • Experience in operation of; or repair of robots utilizing industrial automation controls and devices 
    • Knowledge of Production and Equipment/Plant capability metrics (OEE, MTTR, FPY, etc.) and the improvement of such through 4D, RCA, and PFMEA process tools 
    • Experience with, and development of technical drawing, writings, and/or GD&T 
    • Strong hands-on experience with high-volume, final assembly setting 
    • Experience operating boom lifts, man lifts, and cranes
