    POSITION: MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER LEVEL 1:

    SUMMARY: G3 Aerospace is an advanced engineering services company committed to providing cost-competitive and quality engineered solutions to the Aerospace and Defense industries.

    We offer a wide variety of engineering services including Mechanical and Structural engineering, Tool and Fixture Design, CNC Programming, Application Engineering, and Product Development. We grew our core through Aircraft Interior Design and specialize in composite assembly design and design for manufacture.

    Our model is to perform services and provide deliverables as a value-added partner with our customers as a strategic extension of their engineering and operational capabilities.

    We are currently looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer with experience in composite material design for primary and secondary structures to be located in the San Diego area to support our customers in that region.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with customer to develop products and services that corrospond to their requirements
    • Find additional opportunities to grow revenue organically within current customer and new customer base
    • Provides extended expertise in the design, development and testing of new composite products
    • Design of composite layup molds and complex assembly fixtures
    • Participates in customer team engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing and validation of final hardware components
    • Performs mechanical component development and integration, while using Computer-Aided-Design concepts
    • Solves a variety of mechanical engineering issues and improves existing designs
    • Implement and improve composite manufacturing processes
    • Performs value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing product development costs
    • Use experience to guide the customer to success
    • Identify and understand project risks, and develop mitigation plans
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • US Citizenship is required
    • BSME or MET degree preferred
    • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards and GD&T preferred
    • Proficiency in 3-D modeling and detail drawing generation using SolidWorks, CREO or Catia V5 required
    • Experience performing tolerance and stack up analyses preferred
    • Experience with design for manufacturability and/or manufacturing support preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills expected
    • Must be comfortable working in a team environment with changing priorities and deadlines
    • Ability to travel if required
