    G3 AEROSPACE is a mechanical engineering design services company providing our customer a broad spectrum of solutions from turnkey to staff augmentation.  Our primary expertise lies in aircraft cabins, composite structures and industrial tooling.  We are looking for a entry level Stress Design Engineer.  The right candidate will have a strong engineering background, preferably in aerospace, materials with some knowledge of FEA.

    OVERVIEW:  The Stress Design Engineering shall support the structural qualification and certification of aircraft interior units and other products, including all supporting stress analysis. Presents analysis in Interface Loads Reports or Stress Analysis Reports. Creates static test plans to certify aircraft interior units and other product via static testing. Able to determine specific certification requirements regulatory agencies and customer documentation. Participates in the development of new products and technical proposals in order to enable the company to capture new and additional business. Participates in the preparation and presentation of Design Reviews. Should possess the motivation to complete projects on time and represent the company's core values.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops preliminary and detailed stress analysis of products and components using FEA (FEMAP/NASTRAN) and hand calculations.
    • Prepares interface loads reports and static test plans/reports, stress analysis reports, comparative analysis reports, etc.
    • Acts as primary interface with customer stress engineers to identify and assist in articulation of customer requirements and priorities; discuss and resolve technical/program issues and problems.
    • Identifies, evaluates, establishes, and implements alternative courses of action in response to changing customer focus, requirements, or needs relating to structural analysis.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or 5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with a focus on FEA analysis

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Excellent skills in MS office, word, project and excel
    • Catia V5, Solidworks, CREO, AutoCAD Draftsite
    • NASTRAN FEMAP
    • Windchill, Smarteam or other PLM software
