We are enterprising probate and elder law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need a motivated, experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team and work directly with the owners and attorneys to support the team and help clients. If you are considering a long-term career in the legal field, this position will give you a front seat to the legal process. You’ll be responsible for helping our firm grow and manage relationships with our clients, prepare legal documents, and maintain effective communication with the firm’s clients and others. Jobseekers should be able to communicate effectively and clearly, translate “legalese” into plain English, independently draft both simple (drafted to 100%) and more complex legal documents (drafted to 70% or more) with high attention to detail, and be energized by getting results. Responsibilities: We need a Litigation Paralegal with experience in civil litigation. Some experience in probate and/or elder law is a BONUS! The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal supervision (while operating within the ethics rules, of course!). This is a full-time job, and you absolutely must be able to work for 40 hours per week. This position may be partially remote, and the on-site, in-person schedule is negotiable for the right candidate. Responsibilities • Interacting with clients and buildings relationships with them • Interacting with courts and administrative agencies regarding filings, hearings, motions, and other appearances • Monitoring internal case timelines to ensure that progress is being made • Researching laws and judicial decisions • Drafting pleadings, motions, orders, client correspondence, and discovery • Responding to discovery requests • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible • Become part of a team that believes in what we do and believes that we have the potential to make a difference in people's lives Qualifications: Qualifications • You feel an urgency to complete your To-Do list • You genuinely enjoy helping people • You want to grow as a professional and as a person • You believe in personal responsibility • You possess a high degree of attention to detail • You are good at managing your time and yourself • You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly • You do not think scanning and copying are "beneath you” • You are a team player • You want your talents and work ethic to make a difference Compensation: $50,000 - $72,500 yearly
