Dot Esports, the premier destination for esports coverage online, is looking for freelance writers based in the U.S. to join our news desk. This is a freelance and fully remote role, however we are looking for people with Friday night and weekend availability. We are open to training the right candidate!

Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge of at least one of the listed esports/video games and must be comfortable writing news about additional games. This is a great opportunity to cover the games and competitions you love while working with one of the best teams in esports journalism! Applicants should be self-starters who are eager to learn and respond well to constructive criticism. We're a global, digital newsroom, and work will be remote.

Responsibilities:

• Help cover news and guides around game releases
• Work with editors to develop pitches
• Meet deadlines for publishing stories
• Follow trending topics through Google Trends and Twitter
• Write a minimum of 20 stories per month
• In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following games and esports:
  • Valorant
  • World of Warcraft
  • New release games

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in the writing industry
• SEO knowledge
• Someone open-minded and positive

Rates: $16 - $90 USD per article depending on article length.
