Dot Esports, the premier destination for esports coverage online, is looking for freelance writers to join our writers room. This is a freelance and fully remote role as part of our global, digital newsroom. This position will be responsible for helping us to create and improve our SEO & evergreen content content. Later this role may transition to working alongside our editorial team covering news and other video game topics.

Interested candidates should have rich knowledge regarding the video game industry and especially esports. You must be comfortable writing about a wide variety of games and esport events. This is a great opportunity to cover the games and competitions you love while working with one of the best teams in esports journalism! Applicants should be self-starters who are eager to learn and respond well to constructive criticism.

Responsibilities:

• Help cover news and guides around game releases
• Work with editors to develop pitches
• Meet deadlines for publishing stories
• Follow trending topics through Google Trends and Twitter
• Write a minimum of 20 stories per month

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in the writing industry (preferably in gaming)
• SEO knowledge
• Someone open-minded and positive

Rates: $16 - $90 USD per article depending on article length.
