GBC International Bank is looking for a RELATIONSHIP BANKER, who will be responsible for branch sales and portfolio growth related to variety of Bank’s products and services. In conjunction with branch sales efforts, supports, promotes, and market promotional activities, and enhance customer relationships. This position is required to demonstrate daily a high level of sales proficiency both in person and over the phone. This position provides customers with Bank’s product information, and makes product recommendations based on customer suitability; and ensures compliance with related policies, procedures and regulations in order to effectively serve customers, increase market share and generate fee income.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
SALES
1. Achieve sales goals for core deposits, and loans referrals through profiling and needs assessment.
2. Building a relationship with customers, acting in a consultative role and establishing a follow-up plan to ensure the continuing relationship thereby enhancing customer retention.
3. Identify sales strategies to target both existing and new customers to gain additional business and attract new profitable relationships.
4. Demonstrate a high proficiency of sales and communication skills in order to help customers and the bank achieve financial goals i.e. profiling, tele-consulting, follow up, and pipeline management.
5. Completes required documentation for opening accounts to ensure compliance with related policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
6. Maintains involvement in the community and participates in professional organizations in order to contribute to the Bank's image and obtain new business.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
SERVICE/OPERATIONS
1. Service and manages a portfolio of customers focusing on retention through frequent contact and demonstration of strong problem resolution skills.
2. Know whom to call to resolve customer problems and take ownership of the issues until resolved.
3. Follow up with the customer after issues or concerns are believed to be resolved to
ensure the problem was taken care of in a satisfactory manner.
4. Achieve household retention goals.
5. Maintain a high level of accuracy when establishing accounts or providing updates and changes on accounts -deposits.
RISK MANAGEMENT
1. Abide by and stay current on all compliance issues as it relates to deposits.
2. Make good decisions regarding customer account management in order to minimize risk to the bank.
4. Make product recommendations that meet suitability requirements for the customer.
In addition to the above, follows all other instructions and perform any other job- related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The minimum required job-related experience needed to demonstrate competence to perform the job is three to five years of banking experience in the areas of sales, deposits, and basic knowledge in commercial lending. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to deposits. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
1. Successful completion in the following:
• Deposit platform training including policy and procedures or equivalent experience
• Establishing Customer Relationships
• Advanced Sales Skills Training
• Advanced Core Product training - deposits, and referral products
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business, banking, marketing or equivalent educational experience.
Bilingual, Mandarin / Cantonese and English preferred.
Ability to use a financial calculator.
Ability to use a personal computer.
COMPLIANCE
