Involves tooling design/engineering when fitness-for- use decisions need to be made. Prepares and submits corrective action reports to suppliers when non-conforming tooling/machine parts are identified. Works closely with suppliers to improve data correlation, minimize inspection data discrepancies and resolve those as required. Reviews and analyzes inspection data submitted by suppliers and evaluates conformance to specification as well as determines features that may be at risk for non-conformance – communicates findings with supervisor and supplier. Monitors parts count to insure there aren’t any parts lost in the inspection area. Responsible for ensuring all transactions of all parts are made correctly. Performs all other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

This position serves as a technical resource to both internal and external customers.  Internal customers include CSI’s Machine Build and Capping groups, Engineering, and R&D.  External customers include all of CSI’s manufacturing sites as well as CSI’s licensees.  As a technical resource, the Quality Inspector provides assistance with troubleshooting quality problems with tools or machine components, providing inspection services as needed and offering technical advice with regards to design, fit and function of tooling and machine components.

This person proactively works with CSI’s suppliers to improve their quality and performance, and to build strong relationships with CSI’s customers.  The candidate must have a good technical knowledge of machining operations and be able to work with suppliers to improve or develop the appropriate manufacturing and QC processes to consistently and reliably make tools and machine components that meet the design specifications of CSI’s Machinery and Capping divisions.
