The Public Health Nurse will apply their clinical experience and expertise to inform public policy development, guide program design, and assist with policy and program implementation oversight.

Job duties will include:

• Conducting review, analysis, updating, and maintenance of maternal health policy and guidance for Medicaid providers and payers.
• Developing education materials and communications for Medicaid members and providers to support access to quality maternal and child health services.
• Participating in workgroups and stakeholder committees to provide and gather input around best practices to promote positive maternal and child health outcomes.
• Promoting policies and practices to achieve health equity across maternal and child populations.
• Responding to ad hoc requests and preparing reports on Medicaid service access, utilization, and billing.
• Developing recommendations based on evidence, data, and practice knowledge, to address gaps in maternal health policy, services, and outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and current license as a registered professional nurse in New York State
• 4 years clinical healthcare experience
• 2 years acute care experience
• Must be a United States Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States to be considered

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications for this position, the preferred candidate will:

• Have knowledge of New York’s Medicaid delivery system
• Have experience serving maternal and/or pediatric populations
• Embrace achievement of health equity as a key priority of the work of the Bureau
• Demonstrate efficacy and efficiency in written and oral communication
