ABOUT US:

GEO Next Generation High School, a free 9-12 public charter school. GEO Next Generation High School will begin with 9th grade and add a grade each year over the subsequent three years. At GEO Next Generation High School students are able to take free college courses on a college campus for college credits, while simultaneously earning a high school diploma. GEO Next Generation High School is a part of a network of high-quality charter schools managed by the GEO Foundation and joins GEO Prep Academy and GEO Prep Mid-City, delivering a high-quality K-12 learning experience to parents and students in the Baton Rouge community.

REPORTS TO/TERM:

Principal

This is a part-time position. (no more than 28 hours weekly)

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or higher

Maintain at all times a valid Louisiana driver’s license

Sincere desire to work in a diverse K-12 school environment and make a difference in the lives of our students and their families

Experience driving student bus

Excellent driving record

Be able to work a flexible schedule

Must complete State Police Background check

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

A Bus Driver is required to perform the following duties:

Work with school leadership to coordinate bus routes

Follow all traffic and safety laws

Oversee bus maintenance

Keep the bus clean and free from trash daily

Keep the bus fueled and ready for service

Report student disciplinary issues to school leadership

Follow school policy regarding student discipline

Provide on-sight student supervision

Attend appropriate staff meetings and Professional Development opportunities as directed by the Principal

Follow the school’s policies and procedures.

Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Principal
