    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Office Assistant provides general support for the Administrative Manager by assisting with Claims Assistant duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Assisting Administrative Manager with personal injury or workers’ compensation cases by requesting medical records
    • Pursuing information regarding subrogation requests
    • Creating new settlement breakdown spreadsheets and update existing settlement breakdown spreadsheets
    • Preparing, faxing or emailing reduction and balance verification requests
    • Auditing various files as assigned
    • Filling in for Claims Assistants as needed
    • Ensuring case management software (CMS) feed is cleared daily
    • Ensuring emails are cleared daily
    • Performing other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and proficiency in business vocabulary to effectively represent the Firm to outside parties
    • Proficient in multi-tasking, attention to detail, and ability to audit documents and spreadsheets
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
    • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer
    • Ability to work with databases and online technological platforms
    • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible
    • Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the Firm

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    • Minimum of six months of experience in personal injury or workers’ compensation
