The Special Projects Project Manager-Estimator has the unique opportunity to grow his/her career through broad exposure to all aspects of project delivery including business development, estimating and project management. Must demonstrate strong understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards while effectively managing preconstruction and project management responsibilities. Must be familiar with construction costs, project budgeting, vendor selection, preconstruction client services, client proposals (RFQ response) and owner/architect/general contractor industry expertise. Experience with healthcare strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Effectively leads project management activities from conception to completion

Demonstrates exceptional project management skills, delivering on key projects and commitments via personal knowledge and leadership savvy

Leads and/or provides support for estimates at all stages/levels through buyout

Prepares start-up documentation and implements owner contracts

Supervises set-up logs, bonds and project lists

Establishes and maintains updated project records for project accounting, billings and pursuit of receivables

Completes and/or supervises preparation, billing and completion of change orders

Performs other duties as directed or assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Unless Otherwise Noted):

B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent field/experience

Five (5) years project management/estimating experience

Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment strongly preferred

Strong background in General Contracting consisting of small, mid-size & large-scale jobs with proven ability to manage renovation projects; Experience with medical, educational and technology sector projects (preferred)

Solid computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel

Proficient in use of estimating software; Able to read drawings and specifications

Verifiable work references demonstrating exceptional skills and achievements including:

High level of professionalism; Dependable, results-focused and ethical

History of delivering on key projects and commitments and strong communication with internal stakeholders (e.g. Superintendents) and externally with Owner, Architect/Engineer, and subcontractors

Strong organization, multi-tasking and planning skills

Excellent customer service orientation and verbal written communication skills

Successful completion of post-offer background and drug screens
