  • Responsibilities

    The Data Specialist assists with the data entry and maintenance of Volunteer Systems 2.0 (Salesforce, Hybris) by entering new and updated customer account information, program information and report queries. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Performs regular Volunteer Systems (VS 2.0) maintenance to include but not limited to membership/records merge, customer profile adjustments, customer record transfers and other duties involving the customer profile lifecycle.
    • Creates and follows up on cases with GSUSA regarding system level issues with VS 2.0.
    • Completes generated case assignments in VS 2.0 related to membership and participation.
    • Completes data entry of council membership and camp/program/adult learning registrations via Volunteer Systems, Looker and Double Knot.
    • Assists with regularly scheduled system maintenance for various supported platforms: Double Knot, Looker and Volunteer Systems.
    • Reviews and cleans data for monthly reports.
    • Organizes hard copy department records.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the council’s mission and goals.

    • Licensure/Membership Requirements: The employee is required to maintain membership with Girl Scouts of the United States of America throughout the duration of their employment with GSSWT.

    Licensure/Membership Requirements: The employee is required to maintain membership with Girl Scouts of the United States of America throughout the duration of their employment with GSSWT.

    Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 3 to 5 years of data entry experience required.

    Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

    Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer Skills: Must be proficient in proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and Word).

    This position primarily performs its duties indoors and is occasionally exposed to outdoors weather conditions and/or moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
